For those who have asked me about the above exam, here's a summary of what it is:
1. It's a replacement for the older Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Exam run by Certiport. Certiport and MOS is still around but the MS Project exam is updated only till Project 2002. Simulation based. Costs S$120+GST at time of posting.
2. This new exam delivered by Prometric (like other Microsoft exams) gives you MCP status as well as MCTS with one exam. Costs $225+GST per attempt.
3. Difficulty level - you need to know the software settings and concepts/formulas very well. Existing project managers who do not know the software - don't waste your money. You also need to know the Earned Value calculations (BCWS, ACWP, SV, SPI, CPI etc).
Related reading material -
Step by Step Microsoft Project 2007 is a recommended reading but you have to read all chapters and it's little skimpy on the Earned Vlaue calculation. You can skip the chapters on Project Server.
The MS Press Inside Out should be better. Some documentation exist on the Microsoft Project website http://office.microsoft.com/project .
