    Migrating Outlook to another machine

I am preparing to move my collection of Outlook PSTs (several GBs worth) to a new machine. I know Rules/Alerts can be exported and imported, but i wonder how can it preserve the linkage information back to my email accounts, which i'd have to recreate on the new machine?

It has been tiring in the past to relink each and every of the approximately 60-80 rules i have to shuffle 300-400 emails a day.

Need to know what version of Office are you using?

Earlier versions of Office like 2003 have this tool called the "Office Save My Settings Wizard" located under your Start menu> Microsoft Office > Office Tools.

It transfers your Office setting to another machine including your Outlook email profiles. i.e. different email settings also your local PSTs. Remember to transfer the psts over as well.

Windows XP also has a version of this tool, the "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" which does even more stuff.

Office 2007 however, stopped the Office version of this tool. You have to reply on the the XP "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" or Vista's "Easy Transfer Wizard" to do this for Office 2007.
